The Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) Canada proudly announced the official launch of its Kitchener Division, marking a significant milestone in strengthening community engagement within the Indo-Canadian diaspora.
The launch event was hosted by community leader Maninder Samra, who will also serve as the Head of the Kitchener Division. The program turned out to be a tremendous success, with strong community participation and an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm, meaningful dialogue, and collective vision for the future.

The event was graced by prominent leaders including Sam Pitroda and Alka Lamba, National Women’s President of the Indian National Congress.
Both leaders interacted with attendees and shared insights on democracy, community leadership, and the importance of strengthening ties between India and the global Indian diaspora.

As the host of the launch event and the driving force behind the initiative, Maninder Samra emphasized the importance of creating a strong platform for community engagement, civic responsibility, and cultural connection in Kitchener.
Under his leadership, the Kitchener division aims to build an active network of community members dedicated to social initiatives, dialogue, and collaboration.
Upcoming Community Initiatives
During the launch, two key community initiatives were announced, both spearheaded by Maninder Samra:
- Community Drain Cleaning Initiative – focusing on improving neighborhood sanitation and environmental awareness.
- Community Basketball Match – designed to bring together youth and families through sports and community bonding.
These initiatives reflect the division’s commitment to grassroots community engagement and service.
Building Stronger India–Canada Bonds
The event witnessed participation from individuals across the Indo-Canadian community who expressed excitement about becoming part of this growing movement.
